Dragging my friend JP out for another DJ show… this time in Macau. We embarked on a 12hour trip to Macau, where we’d be homeless while waiting for our morning ferry back to Hong Kong. We were exhausted but it was wild fun and we were front row! Also, ended up on his Instagram haha. Steve Aoki’s one of the most energetic and novel DJs around… half the time, he’s in front of the turntables, hyping up the crowd, caking people, spraying champagne and water, pulling people up to ride on his inflatable raft. He’s always so entertaining and whenever he plays, a good time is guaranteed.

Best date ever :D

Surprised him with a dinner buffet at the Peninsula. It was AMAZING, buffets have never been the same ever again. By far, the best quality of food and as long as you eat as much as we did, you can definitely get your money’s worth. I actually didn’t photograph everything we ate :P

Afterwards, we took a stroll through Heritage 1881, then took the Star Ferry home. It was such a romantic, touristy night out <3

Friends visiting = MORE FOOD!

I’m slowly trying to leave the club life behind… but twas the season to be jolly :p … It was my first winter holiday in Hong Kong, might as well experience it to the fullest and do it up! Beware of crowds and walking 6x more than you actually have to…

The colder weather calls for upping the temperature and spice level of food! Here are some delicious things I consumed over the 2012 holiday season.

Dec. 13, 2012

Lured out on another Thursday night for EDM.

Volar celebrated its 8th anniversary that night… but I went for the DJs, obviously! Dillon Francis played a fun set. But the the main reason I came out was for the talented A-trak, my favourite DJ ! I expected more electro house but he played more dubstep… moving with the times, I guess :( It was amazing to see him live again though! At one point, someone in his entourage from behind the stage handed me a flute of champagne. Good times… it was still an awesome night and we met some fun people… definitely a memorable time <3

Can I just… for a place that doesn’t celebrate the traditional values of Christmas (just the materialistic aspect)… Hong Kong does it big with their decorations. Here’s a look at some decor from the 2012 holiday season.

Shop closing down, new toys for me :p

Snagged a Blackbird Fly and Superheadz Ultra Wide & Slim (Silver, Kumagin). Both are fun 35mm cameras… excited for fun unexpected results :)

It had been a while I had partied on a Thursday night. All it takes is a great DJ.

Oliver Twizt opened for him with some dubstep. According to his website, Laidback Luke spins a “dynamic fusion of hyper-drive-house-step & ghetto-jack-trance-bass”… I don’t know how music is classified anymore, but I think his music fits under the EDM umbrella. It was a fun, sweaty night of us joining the small minority of people who danced and went ham. After haphazardly chatting with one of his security guards, we were able to sneak behind the booth towards the end and snagged photos with him :D Certainly worth being exhausted at work, the following day.

My 2012 Halloween look.
With my move back to Hong Kong, I wanted to get back in touch with my Chinese roots. Here’s my adaptation of Chinese opera makeup.
